Wood has a sparkling wisdom to it. The first children of nature; trees looked after man since the day he was born. In fact, trees fascinated man to such an extent that he always wanted to be around with them, therefore using them to make everything related to his presence, his home, tools, and even his lucky charms. The art of engraving wood requires a lot of precision and wisdom. A specialized artist in this art is usually called a master; the only one who has the ability to coordinate circular geometric shapes and forms of wide and sharp angles _ In the city of Fez, as in other Moroccan cities masters used cedars and sabina logs in particular due to the proximity of their forests to the city. They were hence distinctly utilized in Fez buildings, both in ornamented ceilings and in manufacturing doors, windows, and furniture, particularly chests and beds.
